Schenectady- John H. Hewitt, 60, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, August 27, 2017. John is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Joan F. Hewitt.
John held many occupations over his life but his most favorite was working at Ellis Hospital as a Mental Health Counselor. John loved the outdoors especially fishing and enjoyed spending time with his family including his cat Chessabell.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, Janel L. (Rob) Gagliardi and Jeffrey M. (Jamie) Hewitt. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Anthony, Christian, Makayla, Chloe and Benjamin and many nieces and nephews.
John also leaves behind his two sisters, Linda (Frank "Cheech") Sage and Cathy Richards.
Memorial contributions in John's name to the Mental Health Clinic of Ellis Hospital, 1023 State Street,
Schenectady, NY 12307.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
