John J. Boni, Jr.

COLONIE -John J. Boni, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 19, 2015 with his family by his side. The son of the late John J., Sr. and Grace R. (Rappazzo) Boni. John was an electrician. He was a caring and compassionate man; an admirable son, husband, father, and wonderful person to all he touched. He always participated in the lives of his cherished children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his Harley Davidson. He was a communicant of the Church of Blessed Sacrament. John was a member of IBEW Local 236, West Albany Rod and Gun Club, NYS Trapper's Association, NRA and was a Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator.
He is survived by his children Kim J. Boni-Phillips (late Kevin) of Colonie, John J. Boni III (Corina) of Malta, Lori A. Weloth (Alan) of Colonie and Janet J. Cleary (Michael) of Voorheesville; grandchildren Angelina M. Boni-Hatlee (Edwin), Nicholas W. Hall, Stephanie N. Dessureau, Gerald J. Dessureau Jr., Michael S. Cleary II, Brittney R. Murray (Brett) and Alan L. Weloth, Jr.; 10 great grandchildren; the love of his life former wife Janet J. (Leto) Boni, sister Carmela P. (Boni) Martinese, several nieces, nephews, cousins and special canine companion Beauty.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, February 23, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 AM on Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave., Albany.
