John J. Catalfamo

GUILDERLAND - John J. Catalfamo, 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland.
John was born in Albany on July 2, 1930 and was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Clara (Giorgianni) Catalfamo. He proudly served our country in the US Navy. He was a liquor salesman for Schenley Liquor Distributors in Colonie for many years before retiring. He enjoyed being with family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion Joseph E. Zaloga Post 1520 and the Elks Club. He was a coin collector and an avid fan of the NY Yankees. John was a loving, kind and generous man. He was a social man that loved to be surrounded by people. His charm and sense of humor touched the lives of all who knew him. His smile and laugh will forever be remembered by all.
John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Diana M. (Brino) Catalfamo; his loving children, John J. (Jane Fellman) Catalfamo, Michael J. (Jacqueline) Catalfamo, Cynthia A. (Thomas) Dahlem, Michelle M. (Martin) Berberick, James J. (Karen) Catalfamo, Timothy (Rose) Catalfamo; his cherished grandchildren, Jasen, Cody, Jeromy, April, Alysia, Jade, Reece, Tyler, James, John, and Essie; his cherished great grandchildren, Thomas, Rowan, and Nathan. He is also survived by his siblings, Philip (Margie) Catalfamo, Sadie (Tony) Paratore, Victor (Shirley) Catalfamo, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Anthony and Salvatore.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015, at 12 noon New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of John.
