John J. Felts

ALBANY – John J. Felts, 63, passed away suddenly, but peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at his home.
John was born on January 9, 1948 in Albany and was the son of the late John E. and Julia (Mason) Felts. He was a parts tech with the former L.B. Smith, Inc. in Albany for 38 years before retiring in 2003 due to illness. He enjoyed model trains, card games, bowling, wrestling and hockey, especially the Albany River Rats/Devils.
John is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Debbie E. (Engel) Felts; his cherished children, Jessica N. Felts of Albany and John J. "Josh" Felts and his wife Robin of Albany; his sister, Mary Ecker and her husband, Wes of Albany; his mother-in-law, Mary C. Engel of Albany; his brother-in-law, Richard D. Engel and his wife Renee of Colonie; and his nephews, Richard H., Matthew R. and Christopher P. Engel and the late Patrick M. Engel. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Donald R. Engel and his brother-in-law, Donald E. Engel.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to Our Lady of Americas Shrine Church, 279 Central Ave., Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
