John J. Keller

COLONIE, NY – John J. Keller, 76, of Colonie, passed away on Saturday August 9, 2008 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Gayhead, NY, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Thompson) Keller. John served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Goodrich. He was employed by Niagara Mohawk for 36 years before retiring. John had a true passion for golf and was known for his skilled hands. He will be remembered for his kind and loving ways, his cheerful disposition and his wonderful sense of humor. John is the beloved husband of 52 years to Gertrude A. (Upton) Keller. He is the devoted father of Linda Lawrence, Sandy (Anthony) Capobianco, Donna (Steve) Miske, Patricia (Mark) Prian and Carolyn (Douglas) Vogel. John is the cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren. He is the loving brother of Marie Green, Ann Bennett, James Keller and the late Charles Keller. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden.
