John J. Szesnat Jr.

John J (Sonny) Szesnat, Jr. 69, went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2016. Born in Albany, he lived there his entire life. Sonny loved his family, friends and motorcycles. He was a member of Grace Fellowship where he met many friends and other motorcycle enthusiasts. Sonny was one of the early recipients of a heart transplant at Albany Medical Center over 14 years ago. He also lived with diabetes for over 58 years. Sonny is predeceased by his parents John and Florence Szesnat, Sr., sister Joyce Ragone and brother Chippy. Loved brother of Marylee (Edward) Burnham, Michael (Debbie), Kenneth (Gina), Richard (Laura), Gerald (Judy), Robert (Karen), Tom Ragone, David (Brenda), Nancy (John) Delessio, Kathleen, Thomas (Cindy). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. The family would like to thank all of the nurse's aides that have helped Sonny over the years especially Kristen Owens and Jean Glaser. Sonny would be considered a medical miracle by most and had an extended fulfilling life thanks to organ donation. Please consider becoming an organ donor.
