VOORHEESVILLE - John Joseph Murray "Jack", 86, passed away suddenly March 23, 2014 at his home in Largo, Fla.
Jack was born in Albany was the son of the late John and Katherine (Kirk) Murray. For 31 years, Jack worked for 1st Prize Tobin Packing Company as a meat packer. Jack will truly be missed by his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Helene (Sommers); his daughters, Jacqueline (John) McClintock of Altamont, Betty Ann Szesnat (Paul Smyth) of Guilderland and his son John (Denise) Murray of Delmar. Jack is also survived by his five grandchildren whom he truly loved, Jeremy and Kevin (Katie) McClintock, Daniel (Kathy) Szesnat, Derek and Adam Murray; and two great-grandsons, Tristan and John Parker Szesnat. Jack was predeceased by his grandson Tom Szesnat.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Voorheesville on Friday, March 28 at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
