Westerlo- John F. Kosakoski, 64, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018.

Born on October 11, 1953 in Albany, the son of the late John J. and AnnMarie McCarthy Kosakoski. John graduated from Cardinal McCloskey High School, Class of 1971.

John worked for New York State as a Plant Utilities Engineer. He loved the outdoors; John was the president of the Kinderhook Lake Improvement Association, member of the Tri-Village Rod & Gun Club and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He previously played bagpipes with the City of Albany Pipe Band.

John is survived by his brother in law, John Ryan and nieces, Jennifer and Amanda Ryan. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his twin sister, Marie Ryan.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 4pm until 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, 12205. A funeral service for John will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
