John L. Haller

August 8, 1921 — December 11, 2011

COLONIE - John L. Haller, 90, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 11, 2011 at the Inn of Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Leonard G. and Mary Foith Haller. John was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He was employed at Dearstyne Distributors and Lobell Distributors, retiring several years ago. John was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church. He was an avid New York Yankee fan and was a member of the VFW Post 8692.

John is the brother of Frank (Elizabeth) Haller and the late Leonard, Joseph and Andrew Haller. He is the brother in law of Mary (Mitzi) Haller, Joan Haller and the late Christine Haller. Uncle John is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friend are invited and may call on Friday morning at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, (former St. Francis deSales), 1 Maria Drive Loudonville from 10 am to 11:30 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am at Christ Our Light Church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of John L. Haller.
