John Liotta

ALBANY- John J. Liotta, 89 of Albany, died Monday January 23, 2006 at the Inn of Community Hospice at St. Peters Hospital. He was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Salvatore and Fillipa Liotta.
John had worked as a machinist and toolmaker at the Watervliet Arsenal. He was an insurance salesman with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for over 35 years and had earned millionaire provider status during his career. He was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret Mary Church. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus #173 and the Italian Benevolent Society. John was an avid golfer and had a hole in one in 1991. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Michael Bernstein and the wonderful staff at St. Peters Hospital for their compassionate care and support.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 64 years, Ermina Williams Loitta; his three daughters, Anne (Jack) Nowak of Albany, Janis (David) Donofrio of Duanesburg and Elizabeth Rosenthal of Albany. He is the brother of Josephine Passamonte of Schenectady and the late Soddie and Charles Liotta. He is the brother in law of Gladys Liotta. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 8:15 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Margaret Mary Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers and at the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany , 445 New Karner Rd.
