ALBANY-John H. Lundy, 87, of Sherman St. Albany, NY passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany. Mr. Lundy was born in Albany the son of the late John and Dorothy Ford Lundy and has resided in Albany all of his life. He is a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He belonged to the 555th Parachute Infantry of the "Triple Nickles" 82 airborne. Mr. Lundy was employed by Siena College, Stratton VA Medical Center and Albany Memorial.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Washington Lundy of Albany. He is the beloved father of Carl Lundy of Albany, Yvette Lundy of Alabama and Vinita (Jeff) Meadows of Albany. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, including Rodney Wilson of Florida and Lamar (Wilhelmina) Lundy of Troy. Also surviving are fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lundy was predeceased by three children John Lundy, Jr., Janet Lundy and Janell Lundy and by five siblings Jane Johnson, Betty Spotts, Paul Ford, James Lunday and Benjamin Lunday.
Calling hours will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Bethany Baptist Church, Albany with a funeral service to immediately follow at 12 PM.
Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
