John Maimone, Jr.

John “Johnny” Maimone Jr., 63, passed away on October 3, 2024.

Born in Albany, he was the son of the late John Maimone Sr. and Shirley “Chickie” (Dames) Dempsey.

Johnny was a graduate of Colonie Central High School in 1978. He was employed with Bunkhoff, working in construction, for many years. He was a devoted fan of Metallica, AC/DC, and Black Sabbath. He enjoyed hunting, shooting pool, camping with family and friends, traveling throughout the United States, especially the Florida Keys, where he would ride his Harley over the Seven Mile Bridge with his wife, Sylvia, on the back.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Sylvia; daughters, Tina Hartmann (Brian) and Maria Kane (Mike); sister, Kathy Tidd (Jeff); grandchildren, Hali, Cassidy and Bobby.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A memorial service will immediately follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. Interment to follow the services at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
