John Matulis

GUILDERLAND – John J. Matulis, 83, 0f Guilderland, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 after a long illness. Born in Lewiston, ME, he was the son of the late Joseph P. and Anna M. Matulis. John was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during World War II and the Korean War. He worked for the D & H. Railroad and more recently, for the U.S. Postal Service from where he retired. Mr. Matulis was a member of the V.F.W. Post #1019 and the American Legion Post #977. John is survived by his beloved and devoted friends, Jashu Desai and his family of Guilderland, Roger Stevens of Delmar, Mary Obercon of Schenectady and Ed Shuba of Binghamton.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dept. of New York, V.F.W., 1044 Broadway, Albany, NY 12204 in memory of John J. Matulis.
