John "Jack" F. Matuszek, Sr.
Slingerlands, NY
John passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on June 10, 2021 at the age of 91.
He was born on November 26, 1929 and raised in Albany, and later moved to Slingerlands where he designed and built his family home and raised his loving family.
He was the son of the late George and Estelle Matuszek. John served proudly in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. He later attended and graduated from Hudson Valley Community College (1956). He later went on to become a NYS Licensed Professional Architect, working for several local architectural firms before working for and retiring from NYS Office of General Services Dept. of Design & Construction. John's favorite hobby was working on his home and helping his sons build their homes. He also enjoyed swimming and spending time in Lake George.
John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Florence C. Matuszek, sons John (Michele) and William (Monique), and his sister Barbara Heller. He is predeceased by his son, Michael J. Matuszek and his twin brother George and sister Theresa. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Community Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY 12110. Interment will be held in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers donations to Community Hospice may be made in John's name.
