ROTTERDAM- John Henry Monroe, age 68, passed away on August 8, 2021.
He was born July 4, 1953, the son of the late Charles Joseph Monroe and Bertha Augusta (Emery) Monroe. He was also predeceased by his brother Ronald Vincent Monroe.
John retired from University Heights Nursing Home in Albany.
He was a quiet and private man, whom was loved very much by his family, who will surely miss the love and kindness he would exude when he was around or walked into a room.
John is survived by his children: John Jason Monroe and Stacey Monroe; 11 siblings: Elizabeth (Columbus) Monroe, William Henry Monroe, Milton Edward and wife Darlene (Herrmann) Monroe, Dennis Allen Monroe, Walter Frederick and wife Carla (Cobb) Monroe, Tina Marie Monroe, Robert Chester and wife Donna (Gardner) Monroe, Rose Marie (Monroe) Crider, Gloria Jean (Monroe) Pisano and husband Michael Pisano, Edna Louise (Monroe) Conners, Brenda Lee (Monroe) Ferriday and husband Douglas Ferriday. Also survived by several grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
John was comfortable in his final days at home with the care he received, as well as visits and calls from his family and friends, but sadly we have to say goodbye to John Jason and Stacey's father and to our beloved brother, as he leaves us behind and begins a new journey.
There will be no calling hours or services at John's request.
The family would like to say thank you for the care and services hospice provided during this time. A special thanks to hospice nurse Belinda Marquez for her kind and professional services and care at this difficult time. She was John and his family's angel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John's name may be made to Schenectady County Hospice.
