Clifton Park - John "Jack" H. Morgan, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Jack was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Howard and Evelyn Morgan. He was raised in Elmira, NY, where he met and married his late wife of 65 years, Shirley A. Morgan.
Jack is survived by his children, Michael J. Morgan, Maureen M. Latniak (Peter W. Latniak Jr.), Martin J. Morgan, and Kathleen M. Morgan (Timothy L. Kitchner Jr.); grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Morgan, Justin, Jamie and great-grandchildren, Jack, Thomas, Alivia, Miles and April. He is also survived by loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Jack is predeceased by his daughter Eileen M. Morgan.
Jack's 40 plus year career as a manufacturer's rep in the commercial lighting industry brought him and his family from Elmira to Syracuse, and eventually to Clifton Park in 1978.
With a marvelous sense of humor and quick wit, Jack loved to share jokes with his friends and family. He was an avid sports fan and was especially fond of watching Syracuse University basketball and the New York Yankees. His parents used to travel to the Saratoga racetrack on vacation trips. Jack carried on that tradition and had a collection of paintings of the track that he displayed in his office.
He enjoyed spending his retirement as an artist and founding member of the Southern Saratoga Art Society, where he made many wonderful and lasting friendships. Jack served as past president and board member and dedicated much of his time to working on activities for the organization. He helped coordinate events and participated in art shows throughout the capital region. Jack loved to share pictures of his paintings with others as he took great pride in his work. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the members of SSAS for their friendships and support of Jack throughout the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jack's honor to the Southern Saratoga Art Society, Inc., PO Box 1536, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
