John Murray

Colonie - John S Murray Jr., 90, most recently of Seminole, Florida, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter, Kathi, surrounded by the love and care of his family.

John was the son of the late John S and Montvilla (Patterson) Murray. John served in the US Navy during World War II and was the General Manager at Marsh Hallman Chevrolet for many years before retiring.
Elaine (Lainey) was the beloved wife of John for over 50 years, and they shall now be together for eternity. His legacy is his love and devotion to his family and the joy his kindness, quick wit and humor brought to their lives.

John is survived by his loving children: Kathi (David) Hunt, Guy Murray, Sherrie (Nels) Peat, and Shannon, Richard and Marla Murray. Pop was the cherished grandfather of Kelly and Tyler Hunt, Cassie and John Murray, Rick Knizek, Staci Ngin and David Peat. He was also the adored Pop to many great grandchildren.

John is predeceased by his son John Murray.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of Rhode Island for their wonderful support during these past few days.

A small gathering for his family and friends in celebration of John's life will be held Thursday, September 15th at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie from 10am-12pm. Interment will immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Colonie.
