SCHNECTADY-John P. "Jack" O'Rourke, 79, of Ferguson St. Schenectady passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Ellis Hospital following a short illness. Jack was born in Newhaven, Connecticut, the son of Patrick and Margaret Monahan O'Rourke. He has resided in Schenectady for most of his life. Jack was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Air force. He was a car salesman for several dealerships in the area. He was known for his sense of humor and was loved by all the hearts that he touched. Jack was a devoted husband, father and a well cherished "Papa", who will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 24 years, Magdalen "Maggie" (Barna) O'Rourke, of Schenectady, his daughters, Kimberly Neary and Jennifer Taber, both of Schenectady; his grandchildren, Christopher Gallione, Brianna Taber and Brittney Neary. Jack is also survived by his sister, Eleanor (Tony) Zumbo, of Orange, CT, by several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion, Riley.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7PM on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie with a funeral service immediately following at 7pm at the funeral home.
