COLONIE, NY – John Patrick Dugan, 55, died suddenly at home on Sunday, January 27, 2008. He was born in Albany and is the beloved son of Thomas J. and Evelyn M. Dugan. He lived in Colonie for most of his life. John was currently working for New York State Insurance Fund as a Data Base Administrator. John was one of the few people who could say that he loved his job. He enjoyed spending time on Lake George, vacationing in Cape Cod every summer, eating seafood, sail boating, camping and fishing. In addition to his beloved parents, John is the devoted brother of Joan (Ed) Dugan of Ballston Spa, Barbara Draper of Princeton, NJ, Maureen (Jay) Smith of Loudonville, Thomas (Linda) Dugan of Wrightsville, PA, and Mary Hanley of Saratoga. John was the brother-in-law and best friend of the late Robert F. Draper. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews who adored their uncle. John brought his energetic and happy personality with him wherever he went. He enjoyed life, meeting and befriending people and always had a smile for everyone. John will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew him.
Funeral services will be Friday morning 8:45 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Our Lady of Mercy Church at 9:30 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, Northeastern N.Y. Chapter, 1717 Central Ave., Suite 105, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of John P. Dugan.
