Scotia- John F. Palmer, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Frederick and Jeanette Roberts-Perry. John was the devoted husband to the late Shannon R. Palmer. They were married 52 years.
After graduating from High School, John enlisted in the United States Army where he served proudly until his honorable discharge. He went on to work as a technician for the Veteran's Administration at the VA Hospital, Albany, New York.
John was a proud Christian. He was involved with the church throughout his life.
John enjoyed spending time with his entire family. He was a proud fan of the Boston Red Sox. John was a history buff and avid reader. Most of all, John cherished the time he spent with his children and creating memories with them.
John is survived by his children, April S. (the late Shawn) Herd and Raymond (Julie Teeling) Palmer; grandchildren, Cole Herd, Christian Palmer, and Tatiana Munoz; sister, Kathleen (the late Bob) Bradt; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, John is predeceased by his sister, Linda.
