John R. Devine

Albany & Greene County- John R. "Butch" Devine, 68, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, with his loving family by his side. John was the son of the late Matthew and Marion Devine. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Allen) Devine.

For over 30 plus years Butch worked construction and also owned and operated several local restaurants and sub shops. In his early years Butch enjoyed modified stock car racing and in his later years enjoyed watching his son continuing his tradition of stock car racing at Lebanon Valley Speedway. Other past times included hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hosting and cooking for large family barbecues.

In addition to his wife John is survived by his children; John Devine (Katie), Kelly Devine, Tracy Devine (Carmen), Nicole Devine, Kasey Devine (Jon), his sister Ruth Natale (John), his step-children, Jennifer Livingston, Raymond Livingston and Nicole Livingston. Butch is also survived by his 17 grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Butch is predeceased by his brother Jim "Smokey" Devine as well as his daughters Mary Catherine Devine (Sparkle) and Shannon Noel.

Calling hours will be held on April 2nd, 2016 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205. A memorial service will follow the calling hours starting at 2:00pm.
