John Richard Ramsay, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters.
John was the son of the late William Ramsay and Lita D. Catalfamo.
John was the devoted husband of over 39 years, to Margaret A. "Meg" Ramsay.
John retired from Colonie Masonry Inc. and was a member of the Laborers Local 190 in Glenmont.
Prior to his illness he loved fishing and gardening. He enjoyed working on his computer and his other Apple gadgets. He was an avid Yankee fan and loved playing with his dogs up until his last days.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, William Ramsay.
John is survived by his wife, Margaret "Meg"; his daughter, Tara (Rich) Barrett. He is the brother of Bonnie (Tom) Halabuda. He is the adored "Pop" of Ashley, Kendall and Owen. He is also survived by his loving canine companion, Jam and by nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the attentive and caring staff at the Community Hospice Inn and his Pulmonologist Dr.'s Gort and Gold.
Private calling hours will be held for the family on March 1, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a private service at 12:00 pm. Burial will also be private.
