John R. Saunders

Schenectady- John R. Saunders, 69, passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2022. John was the son of the late Robert H. and Dolores T. Saunders. John is predeceased by his loving wife Pamela A. Saunders.

John worked for Nashua for many years before his retirement. Following his retirement John went on to work for Home Depot in Schenectady as a sales associate. He was very active and enjoyed camping at Alpine Lake, bowling, darts, golfing and playing poker with his friends. Above all John loved spending time with his grandchildren. John was a loyal and proud Milwaukee Brewers Fan.

John is survived by his wife Pamela's daughters Cheryle A. Ellsworth (David) and Anne M. Gorman (Joe). He was the loving "Grandpa John" to Jake (Jenna), Ben and Zak Ellsworth and Wyatt, William and Michael Gorman. He will also be missed by his brothers, Jimmy Saunders (Cyndy), Steven Saunders, Mark Saunders and Pete Saunders (Cathy) as well as his nieces and nephew.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Home Depot for their generosity to John and his family.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 11am-1pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. Sharing of memories will take place at 1pm at the funeral home.
