John R. Schultz, or "Rick," passed away on July 25th , 2023, at the age of 73.

He was a beloved father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family. Rick was born in Albany to the late John and Grace (Rivers) Schultz, where he spent his formative years. He was a proud member of the Marines, where he served from 1967 to 1969. He went on to a career in the financial industry, where he eventually retired from the VA Credit Union. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work and dedication. More importantly, Rick was a loyal and dependable father. He taught his children the value of hard work and dedication.

In his golden years, Rick loved spending time with his grandchildren, sharing stories and offering support and encouragement. Rick enjoyed travelling the world, visiting countries in Europe and as far away as Southeast Asia. He was also an avid coin collector, always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. In his youth, Rick could be seen cruising the streets of Albany in his 1969 Chevelle SS, and continued to be a car enthusiast throughout his life.

Besides his parents, Rick was predeceased by his sister Johanna L. Mills and infant brother James Schultz.

Rick is survived by his children, Heidi Audino and Richard Schultz, and his grandchildren, Madison Hunt, Angelina Audino and Isabella Audino. He is also survived by his sister Colette (Edward) McKelvey, niece Shannon L. Case and nephews Eric J. McKelvey and Kyle R. McKelvey. He was loved and his memory will be forever cherished by those who knew him.

A private funeral service will be held for family and close friends.
