John L. Silvia

Greenville- John L. Silvia "Big John", 75, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022 with his family by his side. Born in Coeymans Hollow, NY he was the son of the late Rose and Joseph Silvia. John is predeceased by his loving wife and best friend, Eileen Silvia.
John retired from Albany County as well as the City of Albany. Following his retirement, John continued working for his family business, "Catering by John" and "Big John's Hotdogs" serving the Capital District for over 40 years.

John is survived by his children, Theresa Koeppe (Robert Green), Jacqueline Silvia-Fink (Robert Newberry), Jessica Patrick (Brad), Joshua Silvia (Lynne), Milissa Silvia (Michael Lazzaruolo), Mike Silvia, and Ian Silvia. John was the loving "PA" to John (Tiffany) and William (Paw Kmwee) Koeppe, John Perez Jr. (Angelina), Tyler Fink (Frank Fink), Aiden, Peyton and Natalie Patrick, Anthony ,Damian and Ethan Silvia, Logan and Kilee Koeppe and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his siblings, Pat Banker, Rose Flach, Joseph Silvia and Kathleen Palmer

In addition to his wife, John is predeceased by his son David Oropallo and sister, Joan Rivers.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 11am-1pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd. Watervliet, NY 12189. A funeral service will begin at 1pm at the funeral home.
