John Strain, 58, of Schenectady passed away May 17th, 2022 surrounded by his family. Born September 21, 1963 in Troy, NY.


John was the devoted husband to his wife, Yvonne Strain aka Pooh, for twelve wonderful years.
He was an adoring father to his daughters Erica aka Goose (Bryan), Brittany aka Tiny (Jeremiah) and Caitlin aka Cookie. He was also a loving step-father to Brandon aka B, Kayla aka Queen (Timothy), Michael aka Toad, and Rachel aka Squirrel.


He was the proud Grandpa to Tyler, Jason, Nathan, River, Miah, Amara and Elliana. He was also the proud Bubba to Amber Riley and Aria.


Beloved brother to JoAnn and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.


John was a dedicated employee of The Times Union/ Hearst Corporation for 34 years and a member of the Teamsters local 126 Mailers Union.


He had a deep love for the ocean and often enjoyed vacationing at Ocean City Maryland with his family. John was blessed with a loving family. He was a force of nature and an extremely hard worker, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world.


John was a great friend to everyone he knew, always ready to help anyone who needed it even if he went without. His passion and integrity to those he loved was unwavering. His infectious smile and laugh will live on forever.


Services will be held at New Comer Creations & Funerals located at 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY. Calling hours will take place on Sunday May 22, 2022 from 1-3 p.m.
