John L. Tedesco

December 27, 1930 — October 2, 2018

COLONIE-John Louis Tedesco, 87, in the early morning of October 2, 2018 our beloved husband, father and grandfather died peacefully in the comfort of his home.

He was born December 27, 1930 to the late John and Lucienne Tedesco.

He is a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a paratrooper. After being honorably discharged, he began working for NY Telephone Company. He continued his career in telecommunications, retiring from AT&T and then going on to start his own business, Tedesco Telecommunications. This is when he introduced his son, Tony, into the business and he continues to follow in his father's footsteps.

John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lisa (DeLuca) Tedesco; his children, Debbi "Otter" Tedesco, John Bari Tedesco, Tara (Tom) Riggs, Aimee (Mike) Geraci, Mia (Shaun) DeMaranville, Amanda Tedesco and Tony (Marcella) Tedesco; grandchildren, Nathan, Jack, Dan, Sarah, Jaycen, Anthony, Mira, Mike, Sophia, Zoe, Navarra, Vienna, Dakota, Aria, Livie and Adrianna arriving early next year; father-in-law, Arthur A. DeLuca; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Henry (Barbara) Tedesco, his beloved pets, Jax and Fenway and many other brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dad was strong, determined and fiercely devoted to his family. Anyone could call him anytime and he would drop what he was doing to help. He loved to dance and sing, draw and write, and made the best tomato sauce in town.
Our father was a devoted husband. He and mom shared a wonderful life together and although they could argue about anything and everything, he was smart enough to know that a good marriage was built on a foundation of forgiveness and becoming a Red Sox fan.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing in the Colorado Rockies, camping, slalom skiing and sailing on Sacandaga Lake, and playing golf with family and friends.

We will miss his laughter during the holidays while he watched his favorite movies, especially The Grinch. We will miss him calling every birthday morning to sing to us. We will miss his company while drinking wine and talking about life. We will even miss hearing him and mom bicker. You gave all of us, all of you, each and every day of your life. You were the best father anyone could ask for. Your love, loyalty, and strength will live on in all of us. Thank you for all you have done and all you were to each of us. We love you daddy with all our hearts.
