SELKIRK-John W. Bailey, 69 passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Bailey was born in Albany, NY the son of the late Harry and Gladys Bailey. He graduated from Albany High School. Mr. Bailey worked for McKesson and Robbins, Ford's Tavern and Gaylord's. He served in the US Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam. Mr. Bailey enjoyed camping and taking rides in the country with his wife. He was an avid Red Sox fan.
Mr. Bailey is the beloved father of John H. Bailey (Jill) of Queensbury and Crystal L. Bailey of Schenectady; step father to Brenda L. Miller of Selkirk and John Miller of Selkirk; devoted grandfather to Cassie, Jonathan, Kristina, and Brittany and great grandfather to Connor.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey was predeceased by his wife Paula and by two sisters Bonnie Bailey and Mary Johnson.
Services will be private for the family.
A graveside service will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 11 AM with full military honors.
