ALBANY – John Wesley Jones, 70, died suddenly on Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital.
John was born on May 11, 1937 in Sunflower, MS and was the son of the late R.T. and Alberta Wilder Jones. He was predeceased by his wife, Freda Jones, a sister and a brother. He worked for the NYS Department of OGS for over 9 years.
He leaves to mourn his death, four daughters, Dianna Jones and Annette McCune both of Albany, Jeannette McCune of Baltimore, MD, Alberta Jones of Union, MS; two sons, John McCune of Atlanta, GA and James Jones of Union, MS; five sisters, two brothers and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 86 Schuyler St., Albany with the Reverend Robert Bradley Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Albany. Calling hours will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the church. Funeral services have been entrusted to New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, Colonie.
