LATHAM-John "Jack" Yuzynko, 62, of Latham, NY, passed away on July 8, 2014, after a long illness. He was at home, surrounded by family and friends. Jack was a model of grace while battling a devastating disease; never giving up his sense of humor and delight at visiting with family and friends. Jack's easy, laid back manner, was comforting to others, right up to the end of his life.
Jack was born in Troy, NY on July 10, 1951. He graduated from Shaker High School and earned a BS in Psychology, Magna Cum Laude, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Jack's career included: Systems Integration Specialist for Habana Premium Cigar Shoppe, a Team Leader for Silhouette Optical and Usability Engineer for March First. He served as a Trustee of the Castleton Public Library prior to moving to Latham.
Jack was passionate about music and an accomplished guitarist and keyboard player. He shared this love with his son, Michael, who will be playing drums in the Empire Repertory Percussion Ensemble. Jack was an avid reader, who cherished all types of books, including classics, fantasies, and mysteries. Jack also loved the outdoors, and cared deeply about environmental concerns.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Becky (White) Yuzynko, to whom he had been married for 18 years, his daughter Cierra Pulver, and son Michael. He is also survived by his mother Anne Yuzynko and brother Bill (Helen) Yuzynko of Latham. In addition, he will be missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, who looked forward to Jack's amazing Halloween displays and Christmas decorations, which were quite elaborate and brought joy to all.
Jack is preceded in death by his father, John Yuzynko.
Private services will be held for the family.
