TROY – Johnny B. York, 70, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2007 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Johnny was born in Lane, SC and was the son of the late Willie and Allean Moore York. He worked for B.A.S.F. Chemical Co. in Rensselaer for 22 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member and deacon at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Albany and he enjoyed fishing.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Bennett York of Troy; his children, Eddie (Pauline) Fulton of Kingstree, SC, Jerome York of Troy, Nathaniel (Antoinette) York of Troy and John (Christine) York of Schenectady; his sisters, Dorothy June, Virginia Canty and Thelma York; his brothers, Willie E. York and Sammie Cappers; 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Alfred Leroy York.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 236 No. Pearl St., Albany. Interment will follow at Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
