Scotia - Jon S. Dutcher
Jon S. Dutcher, 56, of Scotia, N.Y., passed away after a long cancer battle on August 6, 2018. He was born on April 30, 1962 to Virginia (deceased) and James Dutcher Sr., (deseased) in Schenectady, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Fitzgibbons; Daughters, Sabrina, (Nelly, husband), Sarah, Son, Eric, (Shannon, wife), Grandchildren, Drake, Bianca, Katalina, Madison, Lucas, Brothers, Joseph Armstrong, (wife Dawn), Jay Armstrong, (wife Patty), James Dutcher Jr. (wife Kelly), Jeffrey Dutcher, Sr., (wife Terry) and many cousins who were just like brothers and sisters! Jon was a 1980 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady, N.Y. He was employed as a Security Guard at Ellis Hospital for many years. He met his wife Jo Ann there, who works in the food service area of the hospital. Jon really enjoyed camping and the outdoors. He also loved going to the casino from time-to-time and seemed to always be a winner! Jon also loved to fish with his son Eric and all his brothers. Most of all, Jon loved the Minnesota Vikings NFL Team!! He was their biggest fan!
During Jon's battle with cancer he displayed a strong will to live and showed it in everything he did! His family began to call him "Superman" because of his strong fight to live. Even though he didn't win that battle he truly was a "Superman"!
There will be a memorial service at New Comer Cremations & Funerals at 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, N.Y., on Sunday August 12 from 2-4 P.M. The burial will be private for immediate family only at Evergreen Cemetery.
