Jonathan "Jj" R. Johnston

COHOES - Jonathan R. Johnston, 38, of Cohoes passed away suddenly after a brief illness surrounded by his Loving Family.

Jonathan is the beloved son of Paula Johnston (Lane) and step-son to Douglas Lane and his daughter, Victoria Lane. JJ is the loving fiancé to Megan Mathisen and her daughter Paige. He is the beloved Grandson to Robert and Jean Johnston as well as loved by many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins Aaron Johnston, Cody Skadra, Courtney Zoleski and Alyssa Barrall.

JJ was also a committed friend to many throughout his life.

Jonathan was a hardworking and dedicated employee, and member of the Pipefitters Union, Local 669. He was actively pursuing a 5-year Journeyman's program to advance his career.

JJ was an athlete and avid sports enthusiast. He is a lifetime fan of Notre Dame Football, the Carolina Panthers, and the Boston Red Sox. JJ and Megan together enjoyed bowling and participated in a league every Saturday.

Jonathan, "JJ", will be forever remembered for his beautiful smile and eyes, infectious laugh, perfect hair, flawless dress and style, and gentle kind spirit.

The family would like to thank the nurses and providers at Samaritan Hospital ICU and St. Peter's Hospital ICU for their commitment to caring for Jonathan, aka JJ.

A private service was previously held for the family.
