Jonathan Tyler Martin, age 30, died in his home in Albany on January 28th, 2022.
He was a 2009 graduate from Guilderland Highschool.
He is survived by his mother Robin L. Martin and father Timothy R. Martin. He is also survived by his siblings, Kailey Hicks (Eric), Matthew Martin and nephews Hunter and Otto.
Jonathan was a free spirit who was passionate about art and music. He would spend most of his time either attending concerts or creating works of art. He has always enjoyed the serenity of nature. In his early years, he would ride his bike through the neighborhood and parks. In later years, he enjoyed hikes with his family, and would stroll through the parks and walkways of Albany and Schenectady. It didn't matter to him whether it was alone or with friends. Art, music, and nature brought him the peace and serenity he so desperately sought to help quiet the darkness that flooded his mind.
Despite the constant love poured from his family and friends the darkness within Jonathan was too strong for him to ignore. It was the demons in that darkness that ultimately took Jonathan from us far too soon.
His family will forever remember and cherish everyone who reached out after his passing. What shook his family the most was Jonathan's devotion to his friends. It seemed as if he helped every- single-one of his friends…but unfortunately, he was never able to help himself.
Calling hours are Friday February 4th from 4-7 p.m. at New Comer Cremation and Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie NY.
