WEST SAND LAKE – Jordan Thomas Howland, 27, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Albany and grew up in West Sand Lake. Jordan was a graduate of Averill Park High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He worked at the Beverage Mart in Wynantskill for many years. Jordan's passion was target shooting. He also enjoyed art, hiking, camping, fishing and spending time outdoors. Jordan especially loved spending time with his cherished nieces.
Jordan is the beloved son of Richard A. (Debra) Howland Jr. and Bonnie Thomas. He is the devoted brother of Mandy (Shawn) Chamberlain and Schuyler Howland and the loving grandson of Richard and Dolores Howland Sr., William (Donna) Thomas and Gail Pettinger. Jordan is the cherished uncle of Amber, Jasmine, Lily, Jadyn and Ariana. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and his friends who fondly called him "Dino". Jordan's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Elizabeth Hamlin for all of the care and support she gave to Jordan during his illness.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Jordan T. Howland.
