Jose R. Rodriguez

Rodriguez, Jose' R., mostly known as "Pepe", 87, of Montgomery, NY, peacefully passed away on April 7, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.
Jose' was born on October 26th, 1935, to Antonio Rodriguez and Lucas Sanchez on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico in Manatí. At the age of 13, he and some of his siblings left the island and moved to Spanish Harlem, NY. After high school he joined the United States Army where he served in the Korean War 1955 - 1957, as a sniper on the DMZ.
He returned to New York City and married Ramona Quinones in 1958. On July 10, 1959 they welcomed their first born, a son, Jose Lucas Rodriguez.Three years later, on September 29, 1962, their second child, a daughter Yvonne Rodriguez was born.
In 1973 Jose married Nereida Sanchez of 33 years. Jose was known for his storytelling, a die hard Yankee fan, fishing, love for animals, and most important, the love he had for his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio Rodriguez, Lucas Sanchez, his wife Nerieda Sanchez, and siblings Tony Rodriguez, Aida Cordero, Olga Huertas, and Helen Crespo. He is survived by his sisters Enna Figueroa and Theresa Colon.
He is survived by his Son Jose' (Carmen daughter-in-law ) Rodriguez ;
three granddaughters Heather, Amanda, and Jolissa Rodriguez. Additionally, he is survived by his Daughter Yvonne (Ralph son-in-law ) Toro ; and two grandsons Jason and Justin Toro. Lastly, he is survived by his nine great grandchildren and countless others that he loved dearly and considered his children and grandchildren. Visitation 5 - 6 pm, Service immediately at 6pm at Grace Community Church in Washingtonville NY at , on April 13th.
Interment April 14, 2023, 930 am in Gerald B. H. S. Saratoga National Cemetery at 200 Schuylerville, NY
