COLONIE, NY – Joseph A. Carioto, 63, of Colonie, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Irene Carioto. Mr. Carioto lived in Colonie for all of his life. Joe was a graduate of Colonie High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He was a U. S. Navy veteran serving his country from 1965 through 1967. Joe worked for the Town of Colonie Water Dept. for 40 years. He was a Republican committeeman, a life member of the Fuller Road Fire Dept. and a member of the N.Y.S. Association of Fire Chiefs, and both the Hudson Mohawk and Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman's Associations. Joe is the beloved husband of Nora (Snyder) Carioto. He is the devoted father of Mary, Joseph and Anthony Carioto. Joe is the loving brother of Chris Paquin. He is the cherished grandfather of Isabella Moreta. Joe is the "2nd Husband" of Cynthia and "2nd Father" of Pamela. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville. Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the FASNY Firemen's Home, 125 Harry Howard Ave., Hudson, NY 12534 in memory of Joseph A. Carioto.
