ALBANY – Joseph A. Dickson, Sr., 65, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the Stratton VA Medical Center. Born in Catskill on February 24, 1947, he was the son of the late Henry and Olivia L. Dickson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War. Joseph worked as a welder for the Union Local #12 iron workers for more than twenty-five years before his retirement.
Joseph leaves to cherish his memory his wife of forty-five years, Annie L. Dickson, his sister, Olivia H. (John) Chapple and his sister-in-law; Sophie (the late Fred) Butler, Pinkie (Willie) Johnson, Mamie (Charles) McFarland, Loretta Lang and Sally Lang; his brothers-in-law, John (Marie) Lang and Chester Lang. Also surviving are a host of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as a host of other family members and friends. He also leaves "His Buddy Blue". Joseph was predeceased by his brother William H. (Emma) Dickson and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Friday at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery, Greenville.
