COLONIE – Joseph A. Quackenbush, 67, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Julie Blair Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Joseph and Rose Quackenbush. Joe began his over 30 year career with the Village of Colonie as a laborer and eventually retired in 1999 as the Superintendent of Public Works. He enjoyed gardening, painting woodworking, and automobile restoration. Joe had many interest including, American history, fishing, camping and perusing Ebay.
He is the beloved father of Kevin (Lynn) Quackenbush and Jason (Michelle) Quackenbush. He is the brother of Rosemary Pepperman. Joe will be dearly missed by his beloved pets, Ginger and Chewy.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 8:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to Capital City Rescue Mission, P.O.
