Joseph A. Simmons,45, passed away Saturday October 3, 2009 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born in Schenectady the son of Ora (Baker) and the late Gary Simmons and was a lifelong resident. He worked for Fortitech Inc. in Schenectady for many years, was an avid hunter and golfer but his true passion was his children.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children: Erin Merrill and Cody Simmons, brother Steven (Colleen) Simmons, sisters: Wendy Buckley and Lisa Simmons, niece Alyssa Simmons and nephews: Gregory and Lance Simmons.
Joe gave selflessly of himself throughout his life and beyond, as he was an organ donor.
The family would like to thank Dr. McIntosh of C6 at Ellis Hospital for his care and compassion as he treated Joe and his family like his very own.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday 10:00am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.).
