LOUDONVILLE, NY – Joseph C. Albrecht, 81, passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 15, 2007. Born in Hagaman, NY he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth Albrecht. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country during World War II. Mr. Albrecht was a six grade teacher for 29 years in the North Colonie School District, most of them at Goodrich School. He was the Supervisor of Testing for the Dept. of Civil Service, Supervisor of Testing for the Office of Court Administration and the Supervisor of Testing for Professional Licensing Exams. Joe is the beloved husband of 51 years to Marie H. (Guthy) Albrecht. He is the devoted father of Theresa (John) DiGeronimo, Patricia Albrecht-Licciardi and the late William J. Albrecht. He is the loving father-in-law of Sandra Albrecht. Joe is the cherished grandfather of Alexandria, Laine, Melissa, Michelle, A.J. and Rebecca. Also surviving are his beloved great-grandchildren, Justin and Victoria.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning at 10:00 at St. Francis de Sales Church, Maria Drive, Loudonville. Calling hours will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hope Residence, Little Sisters of the Poor, 1 Jeanne Jugan Lane, Latham, NY 12110 in memory of Joseph C. Albrecht.
