Joseph Bellas

GLENVILLE- Joseph E. Bellas, 84, of Glenville, passed away on Sunday September 11, 2005 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Lisbon, ME and was the son of the late Juluis and Mary Bellas. Joe had served in the US Naval Reserves during WWII. He was a machinist for Singer Sewing Machine Company in Lisbon, Maine for many years, before retiring.
He was predeceased by his wife Violet in 1968, his son Joseph in 1978 and his second wife Erika in 2000. He is the beloved father of Donald S. Bellas (Terri) of Linden, NJ and Maria Bellas of Glenville. He is the brother of Walter Bellas, Mary and Anna Dawidowicz all of New Jersey. Grandfather of Steven (Bonnie), Richard, Robert and Michael Bellas. Great grandfather of Dorothy and Joseph Bellas.
Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308.
