Colonie-Joseph Cavallaro, 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Born in Albany on March 9, 1940, a son of the late Joseph and Lucy Campagna Cavallaro.
Joe learned Masonry from his family at a young age, and grew up to become a Mason working for various companies and builders. His brick and stonework can be found throughout the Capital District. He took great pride in all of his work and to him it was not a job, it was something he loved. Joe also had a love for golfing and would spend time at Hillcrest Golf Course. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.
In 1961, Joe married his wife, Janet Thompson Cavallaro and together they had three children, Karen Peck-Schubert (Robert), Joseph M. Cavallaro and Kevin (Susan) Cavallaro; two brothers, Edward Cavallaro (Nancy) and John Cavallaro (Pat); thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Calling hours for Joe will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 1pm until 4pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. There will be no formal service for Joe held at this time.
