ALBANY – Joseph J. Connell, 65, passed away July 10, 2022 at the home he grew up in Albany with his family by his side.
He was born in Albany on December 7, 1956 a son of the late Thomas and Shirley "Gammy" (Palmer) Connell.
Joe worked for the Railroad for many years and later worked for the New York State OGS until his retirement.
He recently moved to Myrtle Beach, SC where he enjoyed the beach and his golf cart.
Joe's passion was riding his Harley motorcycle throughout his life and entertaining the kids doing his wheelies. He loved all of his dogs and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Melody; his daughter, Margie Mae (Steven) Rajca; his granddaughter, Mirabella Mae who was her "Papa Joe"; his brother Tom (Sharon); his sister, Shirley; his nephew, Tommers; his niece, Courtney and great niece and nephew, Quinn and Cian.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Road, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
Arrangement are by New Comer Cremations & Funerals, Colonie.
