Joseph Coons

Joseph Coons, a lifelong resident of Albany, NY, passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2024, in Schenectady, NY. 

Born on February 19.1960, Joseph dedicated his life to serving the community he loved. He worked tirelessly as a laborer for the City of Albany, particularly in Washington Park, where he was not only a diligent worker but also a beloved friend to many. Known for his vibrant personality and unique character, Joe left a lasting impression on all who knew him. 

Joseph is survived by his cherished daughter, Tracy Coons, and his beloved grandchildren: Anibal Moemit Madera, Angel Madera, Briona Allen, and Nathaniel Tubbs. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Joseph's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and happiness. 

In addition to his immediate family, Joseph is survived by his two brothers, Frank Coons and John Coons, and his sister, Kate Schubnel. He was a devoted uncle to his many nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember his warmth and humor. 

He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Carolyn (Roberts) Coons, and his sister, Maryann Evans.

Joseph's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, who will miss his lively spirit and the joy he brought into their lives. His legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family and community will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Visitation will take place on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 10:00 am - 11:00am with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:00am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY 12205.
