Joseph E. Cromartie

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph E. Cromartie, age 76, on January 7, 2025. Born on January 4, 1949, Joe was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

 Joe proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Air Force. A man of intellect and dedication, he earned a master’s degree and later retired from a distinguished career with the New York State Civil Service.

 Joe was predeceased by his parents, Leontean Allen-Cromartie and Lester Cromartie, as well as his sister, Esterlita Cromartie, and brother, Arthur Cromartie. He is survived and loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who cherished his warmth, kindness, and sharp sense of humor.

 A man of many passions, Joe found joy in music and was proud of his extensive collection. He also loved traveling and treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. His laughter, wisdom, and presence will be deeply missed.

 A celebration of Joe’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY, 12205, followed by a military service.

 Interment will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

 Joe’s legacy of love, strength, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May Joe rest in eternal peace.
