COLONIE – Joseph H. Crounse, 69, of Colonie, passed away on Friday May 5, 2006 at St. Clare's Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Jessie and Alice Schell Crounse. Joe was and the founder of his family business, Crounse Motors in Colonie which he has operated for over forty years. He was an avid horseman and a member of the American Quarterhorse Association. He attended many Nascar events with his family and was a proud sponsor of his son's racing team #16. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his loving family.
Joe is the beloved husband of 51 years to Janet Horstman Crounse. He is the devoted father of David J. Crounse (Kathy), Joseph M. Crounse (Debra), Charlene R. Freiberger (Lance) and Traci Crounse. He is the brother of Mary Roy and Rita Trinci. Cherished grandfather of David (Jennifer), Brett and Joseph Crounse, Mark and Stephen Freiberger. Great grandfather of Hannah Crounse. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 11:00 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden.
