Joseph D. Levanites

Colonie- Joseph D. Levanites, 85, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 27, 2016. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Levanites.
Joseph was employed at the former Tobin Meat Packing Company for thirty plus years until it closed. He then went on to work for White Eagle Packing Company in Schenectady. He was an avid bowler and fisherman. He enjoyed the Boston Red Sox and the Duke Blue Devils. Joseph also enjoyed gardening where he grew his own vegetables.
Joseph is survived by his three children; Joanne Huba, Joe Dan Levanites (Johanna) and Neil Levanites (Hope). Joseph is also survived by his grandchildren, William, Miranda and Caleb, his sister, Bernice Clayton as well as several nieces and nephews.
Joseph is predeceased by his brothers, Peter, Frank and John.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 139 South Lake Ave, Albany New York, 12208.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 11:00am-1:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, New York 12205. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
