LATHAM – Joseph D. Tersigni, 85 passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Albany Memorial Hospice.
Joseph was born on September 4, 1920 in Sora, Italy and was the son of the late Phillip and Restituta Tersigni. He served in the US Army during WWII where he served in Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe, attaining the rank of First Sergeant. He served with the Battery C 387th Field Artillery Battalion Timber Wolves. He was the recipient of several medals including the Bronze Star.
Joseph was a staff manager with the Prudential Life Insurance Company for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian Mastro Tersigni; his children, Patricia Tersigni of Niskayuna, Joseph (Patricia) Tersigni of Colonie, Sandra (Peter) Neefus of Ghent, John Tersigni of Virginia Beach, Lisa Tersigni of Clifton Park, Anita (Doug) Wimberley of Church Point, LA and James (Colleen) Tersigni of Menands and the late Marcia Tersigni; his sister, Mary Mastro and his brother Michael Tersigni; his grandchildren, Kimberly, Stephanie, Joseph, Rebecca, Francesa, Kristen, Justin, Rachael, Alexandra, Melissa, Jacob, Nicholas and Joshua; his great grandchildren, Devon, Micaela, Jesse, Kaya and Fox and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Angelina Spina and Lucy Girol.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.
