Menands- Joseph E. Gallo, Jr., 88, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 25, 2006. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Joseph and Susan (Broderick) Gallo. At age 16, Joseph was a member of the Civil Conservation Corp. is Idaho. Joseph served his country during WWII in the 76th Infantry Division of the United States Army. He is predeceased by his wife Ella M. (Ronay) Gallo, two sisters, Elizabeth Hanes and Alice Berben and two brothers Raymond and Leo Gallo.
Joseph is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Barbara (Andrew) Georgiou and Marilynn Gallo, three grandchildren, Melissa, Angela and Peter and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Marie Zelenewych and Lorraine Bulger and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Renee, Nicole, Mary, Allison and also the staff at the Community Hospice of Albany for all the care, comfort and support they gave to Joseph and his family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the D.A.V. Transportation, Mail #135, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Joseph E.
